When we freely give to fight gay marriage
But we change the channel when we see a starving BLACK child.
When we pretend we are so so busy
Even though our dvd collection says otherwise
When we raise hell over profanity and sexuality on tv
And then go to bed and do nothing while sex trafficking grows
When we lust for the lavish, luxurious, and lucrative
But neglect the Last, the Lost, and the Least.
2,000 years ago Jesus said this to a group of churches near Ephesus…I wonder what He might tell us?

We live in the greatest country in the world with the greatest military might the earth has ever known…
But we still fear for OUR safety.
We have more useless inventions, toys, and accessories then we can ever possible have time for….
But we still talk about what we NEED.
We can walk into a store and see more food in a moment then some see in their lifetime…
But we still say we are STARVING.
We have more pills and medication to make us feel better than ever before
But we are DEPRESSED as ever.
We have diets, self-help books, and new secrets to shred the fat away…
But we are still DISGUSTED by the image in the mirror.
And even though we thought we had the desires of our heart
Our discontent tells another story
There is a thirst that our $2 water bottle could never quench...
A hunger that leaves our fattened bodies starved
Behind our reality tv REALITY is screaming at us.
All we ever needed was so very close, so very near... so overlooked
Love stood knocking at our door
But was lost in the sound of our HD tvs.
